Future Medium deployed a highly interactive website for Blundstone early this decade.
The website had a massive development schedule including many photo shoots, interactive element construction, product cataloguing, and different page layouts. The project also involved deployment of the autopublish CMS to an environment which included Oracle databases.
Part of the project involved the creation of a bridge between Oracle and autopublish such that Blundstone could continue utilising existing infrastructure and share this with the website.
The project goals included the following desirable elements:
- Different and interesting content presentation at all levels,
- Clear demonstration of product lines
- Unique brand positioning
- Sensitive treatment of historical records and company values
- Next-level interactive elements
- Full content and database management from one CMS product
- International distributor considerations
- Search engine friendly; and
- Uniquely different to any other fashion website
The project has endured against this criteria well and was only recently given a facelift.
The recent work schedule included enhancements such as:
- Refined navigation
- Extended search tools
- Updated product shots
- Product Catalogue restructures; and
- Reviewed Search engine optimisation plans
