Betfair is a licensed bookmaker in the UK. It also has licences in Australia, Malta, Austria and Germany. Betfair is the world's leading betting exchange, a concept it pioneered.
Future Medium were engaged to develop a sub site to function as a communications tool to promote careers at Betfair. The problem was in communicating in a manner that was on-brand and visually interesting. Why would someone want to work for Betfair, and how would they know what sort of career paths would be available? This problem was really a market positioning and a motivational challenge. Sticking up job ads was the easy part.
We love the Betfair brand! Look at those colours and those stylised characters. It's got so much personality.
After a few operational centre visits we felt the buzz and knew that this was no ordinary brand. The solution had to be big and colourful. We had to capture the vibrant culture but couldn't show real people or photos due to brand guidelines.
Our solution was built to be immediately in your face if you landed there. No stock photos of people at desks, no job position lists - just waving characters and an enticing claim. But, we had to show credibility, not everyone knows Betfair. Powerful partner brands solved that.
The result is a resounding success. It's on brand, it communicates cleanly, and it's quirky.
